CLW PixGot the call that we’ve all been waiting for this morning: My 28 year old son, Christopher, after more than 18 months of preparation and 2 days of testing found out that he had PASSED his Certified Financial Planner certification and is set to be a CFP® in the next couple of weeks.  He accomplished in 18 months what it takes many 2 to 4 years to complete and in 2009, of all individuals awarded the CFP® designation, only 1.5% were under the age of 30.  I’d say he’s in a pretty elite group!

These are some of those ‘sit back and enjoy’ moments that we all have the privilege of viewing when you are a parent. He’s made us proud since birth and he’s done many great things!  We’ll just add this one to his list of accomplishments.  But he doesn’t take credit.  Because he is a believer in the things of Christ, the first words out of his mouth after he told me “PASSED” was “I thank the Lord”.  There’s the core of the good stuff because he doesn’t forget that ‘all that he has and ever hopes to be, he owes it all to HIM!’

So he moves forward being able to serve his clients through Southwestern Investment Services here in Nashville at a level higher; offer them more in-depth analysis and direction because he chose to take an additional step to better himself at what he does.  Gotta think there’s nothing but good in that!

Proud Dad?  You dang right!  But he knew I was proud of him before today!  This just adds another “+” to his column!

Thanks for letting me boast a little!  It’s a big deal in our family and it felt right to acknowledge it here!

Congrats boy!  We love you!

Dad!
