Danny Gokey is a great talent and he has a great heart to match!  On this very special Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, he released a song that really focuses on what I think we should all attempt to do – immediately.  I was telling my wife yesterday – I have NEVER seen such discord, anger, lack of love and understanding against race, ethnicity or beliefs!  Can’t we all just get along and move ahead?  I surely think it’s time!

I share the same thoughts as Danny wrote here!

Martin Luther King Jr. will always be a hero of mine. Amongst all the negative and intimidating voices in his time, he decided that he would risk it all and refuse to allow fear, popular opinion or political correctness stop the mission he was on. He preached the truth with a hope in his heart to set his brothers and sisters free from the tyranny of racism. It is people like him, Abraham Lincoln, and others who loved truth rather than popularity; people more than possessions; and justice more than their own life, that have inspired my voice and my music. As we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. day I wanted to use my musical voice to start a conversation. This conversation can’t be avoided any longer. We can’t pretend that riots, hate crimes, and violence aren’t happening. We can no longer allow the intimidating voices of popular opinion quiet the voice of truth. The truth is what will set people free, and telling the truth in LOVE is the only way to get the job done. This song off my new record embodies the message I believe is so fitting for this day and age. Please take a listen to the lyrics, please share this message with your friends. Like Martin Luther King Jr said- “darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. And hate cannot drive out hate, only love can to that”. #mlk #martinlutherkingjr

Amen Danny!
