Confession!  I am not a hockey fan!  Not really because I don’t want to be but I’ve not taken the time to learn or understand the sport and don’t really understand what’s happening when those guys are out there with the puck on the ice!  However, I AM a fan of The Nashville Predators.  I keep up with their season, have some knowledge of who the players are and I’m off-the-wall excited about the fan base and this growing enthusiasm for Nashville’s hockey team.  It’s electric around here during hockey season!

I’ve never met this player but everything I have seen, heard and read about their captain & center – Mike Fisher impresses me.  The guy is a gamer!  He’s been playing the game 18 years (over 1000 games) and seems to be respected by everyone.  He’s married to someone pretty popular in her own right but let’s not go there.  This guy deserves complete recognition on his own and his wife would probably be the first to agree.

I read an article he wrote this morning published in The Players Tribune.  It’s a first-person article about his transition from the Senators hockey team in Ottawa to Nashville.  It’s heartwarming, real and I think it will give you a true sense of what this ‘tops-in-his-league’ hockey player is all about.

Enjoy this article and GO PREDS!
